Hertford is a historic market town 20 miles north of London in the East Hertfordshire countryside, an area often regarded as one of the most desirable in the UK. With a population of 27,000, the town features excellent schools and a healthy economy. The town dates back to the 10th Century and lies at the confluence of four rivers. Hertford is renowned for its' large number of restaurants and pubs, and the number continues to grow, drawing in trade from well outside the immediate locality. The focal point of stage entertainment in the town is Hertford Theatre in The Wash. There is a programme of drama, cinema, children's shows and music. Hertford is located very close to Ware, where a state of the art GSK facility was opened recently.
